Note: This FAQ is only suitable for TL-WR702N with firmware version 130314 or older; it is NOT suitable for 130528 or later version. Definition : The TL-WR702N copies and reinforces the existing wireless signal to extend the coverage of the signal. So the network name(SSID) and password don't change. This mode is especially useful for a large space to eliminate signal-blind corners. Configuring PPPoE Server on TP-LINK Router     Step 1 :   Access the router’s management webpage, go to  Services->PPPoE Server .     Step 2 :  Enable  PPPoE Server , enter”8.8.8.8” for DNS Server in this example. Step 3 :  Look for  Authentication , here we selected  Local . Step 4 :  Look for  Auth Protocol , there are PAP, CHAP, MS-CHAP, MS-CHAP v2, we picked them all in this example. Step 5 :  Click on  Save . NOTE  :  If Dial-up Access Only is enabled, only the dial-in users can access the Internet; If PPPoE User Isolation is enabled, the dial-in users will be unable to communicate with each other. Step 6 :  Go to  IP Address Pool , enter  “test”  for Pool Name and  ”172.31.10.10-172.31.10.20”  IP Address Range, and then click on  Add. How do I configure wireless G Access Point to wireless AP-Client mode?

Definition : The Access Point is connected to another device via Ethernet cord and acts as an adapter to send/receive the wireless signal from your wireless network.   Step 1 Connect your computer to TL-WA501G/TL-WA601G, and then log into the Webbased Utility by entering the IP address  192.168.1.1  into Web Browser.   If you cannot log into the Web-based Utility, please click  here  and follow the instruction for a try.   Step 2 Change the LAN IP address of the access point (TL-WA501G/TL-WA601G) to avoid IP conflict if necessary. Please refer to  FAQ_173  for some detailed information. How to configure TL-WA501G/TL-WA601G/WA500G as a repeater(range extender/range expander)

TL-WA501G and TL-WA601G can be configured as a repeater. The repeater extends the range of the wireless network by relaying the wireless signal of the remote Access Point or Wireless Router. NOTE:  In the following sections, TL-WA501G/TL-WA601G is represented as “ REPEATER ”, and the wireless device to be repeated is represented as “ main AP ”. To configure the access point as a wireless repeater, please connect your computer to the REPEATER’s LAN port via an Ethernet cable (wireless connection isn’t recommended to use for configuration). Then you need to perform five procedures: Assign a static IP address for your computer. Change the REPEATER’s IP address to fit your main AP’s network. Change your computer’s IP address to fit your main AP’s network. Configure repeater mode on the REPEATER. Wireless Security settings. NOTE:  Procedure  2  and  3  are required because we need make sure that both the computer and the REPEATER are in the same subnet with your main AP.
